📢 MC Redemption Hours & Drop-Off Update
We want to sincerely thank all of our customers for being patient, understanding, and supportive as we continue working through some growing pains and transitions within our business. We know the changing hours and adjustments have been frustrating at times, and we truly appreciate everyone sticking with us.
At this time, our public open hours will be:
🔹 Tuesday: 10 AM – 4 PM
🔹 Thursday: 10 AM – 4 PM
Drop-off service will also be available during public hours on Tuesday and Thursday, as well as during the following drop-off only hours:
🔹 Monday: 6 AM – 2 PM
🔹 Wednesday: 6 AM – 2 PM
🔹 Friday: 6 AM – 2 PM
🔹 Saturday: 7 AM – 12 PM
During drop-off hours, customers may use the overhead door. Please see our website for full drop-off policies and procedures.
If you are needing to pick up money from a drop-off and cannot make it during our Tuesday or Thursday public hours, please call or message us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Our goal is to continue expanding our public hours as we move into the summer months and become more structured and consistent. Thank you again for supporting our small local business — it truly means more than you know.

At Making Cents, our mission is to provide a clean, efficient, and respectful environment for the redemption of recyclable beverage containers. We are committed to supporting Iowa’s Bottle Bill by helping reduce waste, promote sustainability, and encourage community participation in environmental stewardship. Through exceptional customer service and responsible recycling practices, we strive to make a positive impact on our local environment, economy, and the quality of life for all Iowans.
We take our policies very seriously. Failure to follow any of the below rules may result in us asking you to leave and come back when all the standards are met. We have the right to refuse any customer.
Our walk-in service, also known as "public" service, is designed for customers redeeming 500 containers or fewer. This is our most commonly used service.

Drop-Off Times:
You can drop off on Tuesday and Thursday during business hours or Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's between 6am-2pm and Saturday between 7am-12pm. If these hours don't work for you please call for an appointment and we will try and accommodate you.
An employee will be available to assist you and answer any questions.
Once complete, you will receive a yellow copy of the slip — do not lose it! This is required to collect your payment.
